The Brookfield Place complex has a number of bars and restaurants that have enlivened the Terrace and in Small Print – the basement offshoot of Print Hall – an excellent coffee shop that sets a high bar for others to emulate.
In-house roasted coffee, great breads, cakes and light meals for breakfast and lunch make for an appealing and inviting destination.
A mid-morning meeting took Lady FWO and me along earlier this week, and sitting outside at the front of the café we could see just how popular it is. It was buzzing with customers sitting and sipping and eating, ordering takeaways and like us engaged in meetings – it seems a good spot for such an occasion.
An espresso came in a tiny china cup, good crema, bitter, rich and aromatic, and served with a small glass of sparkling water – thoughtful, and more places should pay heed.
Lady FWO’s latte likewise demonstrated great coffee making skills, again smooth, creamy, brilliant coffee art; a very good cup.
With so many competitors within 100 metres Small Print’s popularity bears testimony to its uncompromising attention to atmosphere and quality.
