After a recent meal across the road, and a visit to Old Bridge Cellars, we felt the need for another drink before walking back to North Fremantle station and catching a train home. And what better place on a sunny day than the Piggy Food Company?
In the heart of the excellent North Freo strip with its bars, restaurants, wine shops, antiques and the like, it has both indoor and outdoor seating – on artificial grass – and the latter called on this warm day.
A good range of beers and cider, and a small (but well put together) wine list accompanies the quick, easy menu with its emphasis on what they term Southern Californian dishes – wings, grilled corn, quesadilla, tacos, burgers and, for dessert, an ice-cream sandwich!
A glass of Pirate Like Throwback IPA hit the spot – crisp, with lovely hoppy aromas, plenty of citrus and pine notes on the palate, mildly bitter, and a little malt to finish. Refreshing indeed,
Piggy Good Company is well worth a visit – it is a little different from the other bars in the vicinity, with its food offerings and adds another attraction to the strip. Get along and try it out.
