You’re my world

I used to love the Cilla Black show when it was on TV many moons ago, and last night, downstairs at His Maj, it was as if we were all in the audience of one of those memorable events. From the opening salvo of “Step Inside Love”, Danielle O’Malley took the sell-out audience on a nostalgic journey through the world of the Liverpool Lass.

With a wonderful Liverpudlian patter she was Cilla Black – entertaining us with tales of her early life, meeting John, Paul, George and Ringo and starting on her road to fame; singing for the Queen; the influence of Brian Epstein; all leading to her TV show and myriad pop hits.

Ranging across such classics as “Anyone Who Had a Heart”, “What the World Needs Now”, “Alfie” “Liverpool Lullaby” and a rousing finale in “You’re My World”, this was a show for all fans – and how the audience responded! Danielle has a wonderful, powerful voice and a brilliant stage presence.

A fantastic show, in just the right setting, and not to be missed.

Thanks Kerry, we didn’t see the review in the West, we thought it was a fabulous show and so did everyone else in the room as far as we could see!
