One of a number of Vietnamese around the Girrawheen area, Trang’s Café always serves up good quality food at very reasonable prices.
Quite a small place that can get very busy at times, so there may be a wait for a table – but when you get a seat service is prompt and friendly, and the food comes out quickly. The menu is pretty large and covers off most of the dishes you would expect. The dishes have their Vietnamese name with an English translation underneath and a few pictures give an idea of what is to come.
On the most recent visit a couple of bowls of raw beef Hofan soup hit the spot – a clear broth brimming with classic Vietnamese flavours, plenty of succulent, tender beef pieces and nicely cooked noodles.
Fried wontons are another popular and well turned out dish – seven crisped wontons on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a dipping sauce to finish the package.
Trang’s is family friendly spot – always seem to be plenty of kids and high chairs in action – a bustling, busy but always enjoyable place for a quick, well cooked, and good value meal. Definitely recommended if you live up that way – although it seems many people travel some distance to eat here which is recommendation in itself.
