Tinys Liquor, part of but separate from Tinys bar and restaurant, runs along Milligan Street and is a narrow, brilliantly stocked wine shop and wine bar. The racks of wine include some outstanding, hard to come by, brands, while the small bar with its few window facing seats always has some excellent wines on pour.
A small selection of bar snacks help soak up the wine – and the turntable behind the bar plays an eclectic range of tracks. They also host regular wine tastings – and we went along to try the new Pet Nat and red release from Vallee du Venom/Swan Valley Wines – both very good indeed and will see us out at the winery to pick some up very soon.
Then we retired to a window seat and ordered a couple of glasses of one of the wines available that evening – the excellent Tempranillo from Perth Hills maker, Fairbrossen. A bowl of mixed olives and some crusty bread rounded out our order.
The liquor store/wine bar is always worth a visit for a drink and snack, or to seek out an interesting and different wine to take away. Great spot.
