Importers Gourmet Gateway invited us to a showcase of some of their products recently – on display were olive oils, coffee and the like – and the venue was Five Bar in Mt Lawley. This is one of the most popular bars in the Mt Lawley strip – friendly and welcoming with a mix of tables and chairs, benches and stools, couches and coffee tables offering a host of seating choices – and a good range of wines, beer, cocktails and some pretty good food, as well.
They also do quite a trade in hiring out all or part of the bar for functions, large and small. With about 15 in our group we had one of the benches towards the back of the bar where we were entertained by host Kelly. And as we sampled the produce from Gourmet Gateway we were also plied with food and drink by Five Bar – pleasant indeed.
The platters of food – cheese, charcuterie, olives, paté, bread – helped to soak up the red and white wine flowing freely!
Five Bar is always on song, with friendly and welcoming waiters, excellent drinks, good food, and a laid back vibrant buzz. And with Jerry Fraser and his oysters on hand on Thursdays and Sundays it is a great spot to visit.
