Soul Provider Catering, who roll up at parties and the like to cater to your guests, also have an outlet in the Market Hall food hall at Yagan Square. As the name suggests the food is influenced by the cuisine of the Southern States of the US – Southern Fried chicken, pulled pork rolls, black beans, dirty rice and the rest. And you can grab a wine or beer from one of the liquor outlets in the hall as well – very pleasant.
Last week, after a late afternoon Fringe Show, feeling a tad hungry we dropped in to try a couple of their Shrimp Po’Boy, washed down with a rosé as you do.
The breaded shrimp was piled into a long bun, topped with plenty of lettuce, spring onion and tomato and a mild sauce – I would have liked some hot sauce to add a bit of zing but they didn’t seem to run to that (maybe on my return a bottle will accompany me).
We enjoyed the food and the choices on offer – the whole Market Hall setup is pretty good – a large array of food choices, wine and beer available too, worth a visit and certainly Soul Providers are.
