Another bar on the very interesting North Fremantle strip – just along from Old Bridge Cellars – it has indoor and outdoor seating – and on the sunny day we dropped by, out the front at a table on the artificial grass seemed just the spot to grab a drink and watch the world go by.
They have a good range of beers and cider, but a small (however well put together) wine list and feeling in the mood for a lightish red we ordered a glass of a Spanish tempranillo – a touch of sweet spice on the nose, fruity and juicy but with a pleasant note of earthy dryness to round it out – smooth, easy drinking.
The menu is geared towards quick and easy pub style food – burgers, rolls, tacos, fries, hot wings and the like – and our quesadilla hit the spot – a couple of soft tortillas filled with cheese and fried, topped with a little sour cream and chopped tomatoes – who doesn’t like melted cheese? It was a quick and tasty snack washed down with our red.
Piggy Food Company – they do a fine line in piggy portraits on the walls – proved to be a very enjoyable stopover on our North Freo trip – it has a great vibe and no doubt will be pumping as the weather warms up. One to return to, for sure.
