Pasta in the Valley

Pasta in the Valley is a relative newcomer to the Swan Valley but judging by the cars and buses I see in the car park while out and about they have hit a rich seam of custom. As well as a restaurant they are a pasta maker and retailer of ready to eat pasta dishes – and you can see both the selection available and the pasta making process as you enter.

The dining area – both inside and on the sheltered veranda – is large and has plenty of room for plenty of customers. An attractive playground is certain to be a hit for families over the coming warmer months.

On a recent visit, we tried a couple of the pasta dishes – and they were very quick to arrive.
Spaghetti Bolognese was rich and meaty with the pasta retaining an al dente texture, while the Fagioli – chickpeas, cannellini beans and vegetables with tubettini pasta was full of flavour and earthy notes. (this can be ordered with bacon as well mixed through if you so desire).

They are licensed with a small wine selection and we tried their own label rosé (made by Swan Valley winery, Oakover Estate) which was light and crisp with pleasant strawberry aromas and flavours.

Pasta in the Valley is a casual, laid back spot. It has no pretensions to be other than a family friendly restaurant turning out pleasant and inexpensive food and drink. Good place for a cheap family outing in the Valley. And if you like the food it has the added advantage that you can take some home with you.
