Hadn’t been for a while but last Friday – glorious warm, sunny autumn day – we were wandering back from lunch through the rapidly changing and increasingly impressive Elizabeth Quay and decided to drop in for a quenching ale.
Out of the deck at the back, looking over the Swan, gentle breeze, must be one of the best places for a drink in Perth – superb surrounds.
While we were only here for a beer, I took a look at the wine list and menu – the former is small but has some nice inclusions – Talisman Riesling, Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon and Xanadu DJL Shiraz among them.
The food is naturally enough of the pub food variety but with an emphasis on seafood – squid, chilli mussels, fish tacos, fish and chips, along with other favourites – chicken parmi, various steaks, burgers, pizza and pies. All good solid pub grub.
A good range of beer – both on tap and bottled is available and we chose Coopers Sessional Ale and Two Birds Seasonal – both crisp and refreshing drops with pleasant hoppy aromas.
Leaning on the wall watching the ripples across the water and looking over to South Perth, sipping on a cold beer, it was a great conclusion to lunch. Will be back soon!
