The latest addition to the Swan Street strip in Guildford, Louie’s Pizza and Grill, opened last week. It has tables and chairs out the front of the tiny shop, which also does takeaways.
It is an appealing place for a spot of al fresco pizza eating on these warm Perth nights.
We went along last week to check it out with a bottle of wine in hand – they are BYO – and sat out watching the world go by and had a chat to the owner Lou Milanko and others of his team.
It is a family affair and they could not have been more welcoming.
With a tumbler of red to sip while we waited, our pizza was quickly to hand – we chose the vegie patch – and it had a very generous topping of olives and artichokes and capsicum and mushroom and sundried tomato and much more beside, on a thick pizza crust. Nicely chewy and with a good spot of charring on the base.
Louie’s has added something a little different to the strip, and with such friendly and welcoming people, will sure to be a hit.
Nothing beats sitting out on a warm night, wine in hand, the smell of cooking pizza to whet the appetite.
Can’t wait to try this spot out soon – that pizza looks amazing!
