The Swan Valley’s own festival of food, wine, music and art returns over four days from Tuesday October 4th until Sunday October 7th, at venues across the Valley.
Around 50 events will be staged across the 4 days of festivities, with about 5,000 tickets for sale to the various ticketed events. More details of these can be found in the brochure or on the website www.entwinedinthevalley.com.au
But among them is the highly anticipated Movida Estate Swan Valley Secret Supper, reprised from the sell-out event of 2017, where diners get a picnic basket and map and are invited to forage around the region for the perfect meal before heading off to a secret location for a magical evening of food and wine; Festival of the Grape at Faber with barrel tastings, artisan food, live music, master classes and more; Feast By Fervor, a celebration of native Australian ingredients at Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery with Dale Tilbrook imparting her knowledge of the ingredients and cultural history of the region; the second iteration of the fabulously successful Make Your Own Cider Competition at Funk Cider; and Introduction to Cheese Making with cheesemaker Tanya Barretto at Swan Valley Central.
Of course the many wineries in the Valley will also be holding special events; some of these are – tasting plate and new releases at Pinelli; cheese, crackers and Verdelho at Talijancich; vertical tastings of aged Chenin at Kosovich; soul food and soul music with shiraz at Pandemonium Estate; wine workshop and canapes at Sittella; and the Gin World Cup at Old Young’s Distillery. And many more besides.

And of course there are plenty of events you can attend without paying – for the first time a trail of sculptures will be set up throughout the region; created by Martin Jaine Sculptures these will take visitors on a creative tour of the Valley, with lots of unexpected sights to enthral.
Other free entry events include the Good Old Country Fair at the Hen, with music, pop up cellar door, kids entertainment and more; Swan Valley Sisters and Friends Market Day at their café in Gnangara Road; Market in the Valley at Ugly Duckling Wines; the National Polo Crosse Championships at Brigadoon; free tastings of Corymbia wine at Taylors Art and Coffee House; and guided tastings of Wines from the Vault at Jane Brook.
As you wander around the Valley you will perhaps bump into one of the 4 ambassadors to the event – Yuri Berns, winemaker at Sittella; Dale Tilbrook, owner of Maalinup; Sarah Howlett, Operations manager at the Cheese Barrel; and Rupert Phillips, beekeeper and director of the House of Honey.
