Bark is a very small, small bar in Hay Street, Subiaco, just across the road from Subi Village. An inviting outdoor area is set up on the footpath while inside benches and stools run down the middle, with some tables and chairs to each side. The outdoor area was pretty popular on this day so we sat inside which was comfortable and had a chat to the friendly bar attendant.
A small wine list has been put together quite well to provide something for all, and three or four beers are on tap.
Food on offer consists of jaffles turned out from behind the bar – which incidentally is a quite attractive carved wooden example, but you are welcome to bring in something from one of the fast food joints around the area.
We dropped by on our way back to Perth after lunch in Freo and enjoyed a glass of delightfully crisp and dry rosé from Margaret River’s Watson Family Wines. It was a pleasant stopover and from the number of locals siting around outside, popular.
Bark has all the hall marks of a top little local bar; small, friendly, and a good spot to kick back and relax.
