Bivouac is always a great spot to stop in for a meal with their Middle Eastern influenced cuisine, but is also a pretty good place to simply drop in for a drink – it is after all one of the original small bars on the Northbridge William Street strip.
The wine list is concise but contains some excellent wineries – Hentley Park, Express Winemakers, Bellarmine, Blind Corner, Moss Wood and Vinaceous among them – as well as a sprinkling of Spanish, Italian. Argentinian and French entries.
Sitting out on the footpath in the warm sun appealed when I dropped in last week – and a glass of refreshing rosé simply added to the pleasure – cherry and strawberry bouquet, crisp and dry – perfectly suited to the weather – and of course would also complement the spices in the food.
Bivouac is always worth a visit – everyone is friendly, the food and drink are great – and a seat in the sun always appeals.
