I popped into Arlena’s General Store today –it is only a short stroll from home – for a coffee while I perused the West Australian – as well as selling coffee, cakes and light lunches – sandwiches, wraps – Arlena’s also sells a range of health food and supplements, soap and similar goodies.
The weather had turned fine once more so one of the small tables outside on the footpath took my fancy – and there I had a flat white and a blueberry friand.
The coffee was just the right temperature – I recall on a previous visit it was a little cool for my taste, but today was spot on – milky, creamy and smooth.
The cake – served on a pretty china plate was moist and crumbly with juicy blueberries throughout the pastry – a very pleasant snack in the sun while I digested yesterday’s news.
Another choice for coffee in and around Guildford is always welcome and Arlena’s ticks a number of boxes. Worth a stopover I reckon.
